Hormones and Fat Patterns

Sometimes it is the hormones.Hormone dysfunctions and fat deposit patterns - Fitness Revolution Rolwett

One of the areas that I strive to focus on is fat loss and not just ordinary “lets drop 10lbs for the beach fat loss” but “I want to look hot naked and make my ex jealous fat loss”.

I know you have all thought this.

Now, you may have gotten down to a decent level in body fat but you may have noticed that trying to drop those last few stubborn pounds to really get that polished look is just frustrating. No matter how clean you eat or how much you exercise you can’t seem to get that look that you have in your mind.

So what’s holding you back?

Well my friend, sometimes it IS the hormones [Read more…]

What You Should Know about Poor Digestion and Low Testosterone

Side Note: I had someone do a guest writing series with this blog and a few others, so let me know what you think!

For men who are finding that they are dealing with low testosterone, you will find that poor digestion has a part to play in this complication. One way to increase the amount of testosterone a person has might include actually working on improving a person’s digestion. When they can do this, this can help them with a whole lot of other issues besides that of low testosterone.

Age has a lot to do with the digestion of a man. While there are many younger men who are obese, it’s when they are in their forties or fifties that it begins to be a problem. Men who are forty five or older and those who are obese will be two times more likely to have issues with low testosterone than a regular man. Besides that, there are many men who find that due to poor digestion and overweight, they have diabetes and high blood pressure which put them at a higher risk of having problems with low testosterone.

It is important for men to have regular check ups and get control of weight as this can have a huge effect on getting to the root of the problem early on. If they don’t deal with this as soon as possible, the issue of low testosterone could continue to be a problem that never gets solved. This is usually an indicator that something else is wrong. They could have adrenal fatigue or something even worse. Many of the conditions that could cause poor digestion can normally be corrected, and by doing so, this might cause one to see an increase of testosterone back to normal levels.

It is wise to talk to the doctor to carry out some tests and not to just blame this problem on old age. This is the main thing that men do wrong. They trust the doctor, but what many have thought is that doctors will point out that low testosterone levels are due to the fact that they are old. There are more things that could be the cause of this and this should give hope to those men who might have been told there wasn’t much they could do when it comes to this matter.

In addition to medication,  poor digestion can be healed through the consumption of natural supplements. There are some people who might see that this as a solution could benefit them. Supplements are easy to find and they are actually good for you as well. These are a few nutrients that work greatly to help you achieve better levels of testosterone. These nutrients which you will want to take in on a daily basis will include zinc, multivitamins, and probiotics. These are just a few of the many supplements that you can take to help you with the poor digestive system and to help alleviate the low levels of testosterone that you are facing. If you aren’t sure about what you should take, then please talk to your doctor.

Things You Might Not Know about Inflammation and Low Testosterone

Side Note: I had someone do a guest writing series with this blog and a few others, so let me know what you think!

Many have found that when a man has inflammation, it can often times be due to low levels of testosterone. This can hinder a man’s life in a number of ways, starting with the inability to carry out sexual functions or having complications with reproducing. There are methods that men can take to help alleviate the inflammation that they might have. This will help them to increase their testosterone levels. So, what are some of those methods?

One way to reduce inflammation is to drink cranberry juice. This can reduce any systematic inflammation that a person might have. And this is not the only benefit. Researchers have found that it is great for health as it has all sorts of antibodies that flush out bad elements from our system. And it does not have to be cranberry juice. Just look for the juices high with antioxidants.
Another thing that can be done is to look at how much alcohol that you drink. While too much isn’t good for your liver, there are some good qualities of consuming moderate levels of alcohol. This has been said to actually reduce inflammation. However, there have also been some links between the amount of alcohol that men drink and low levels of testosterone. So, do keep a tab on the amount of alcohol that you consume.

In order to lower inflammation which will then help to increase testosterone, it is recommended that a man goes for regular exercise. There have been many studies done to prove this. The things that experts have learned from research are quite interesting. They have actually found that exercise actually reduces the level of TNF alpha as well as C-Reactive protein.

Looking at your diet is something that some men need to look at if they have inflammation and are experiencing low testosterone counts. The one thing that men want to avoid is high protein diets. This has been seen to be part of the reasons why men have high levels of inflammatory markers. Certain protein foods have been said to increase the amounts of fibronigen and C-Reactive Protein. Low Glycemic foods should be avoided as well. These foods contain insulin activated enzymes and this causes the body to create more of what is called arachidonic acids. The one thing that you want to get more of is omega 3 as this has been said to have some anti-inflammation benefits to it. One last thing to cut out would be saturated fats. This actually allows the inflammations to inhabit the body.

With careful study, you will find that there are many ways to reduce the amount of inflammation. This might help you to improve your testosterone levels so that a man can feel good about himself. These are just a few things that they you can try. In addition, you should discuss such things with your doctor to see what he or she would recommend. They might have other solutions for you to try.

No Excuses - Fitness Revolution RowlettExcuses Make You Fat

This previous weekend I was out away from my home gym and decided to grab a few workouts at popular big box gym and it brought back some memories of some people that I use to train and work out along side that truly blew all excuses out of the water.

When I was about 18-19 I use to workout at this hole in the wall gym (Texas Gym) and I loved it! Some of the hardest workouts to this day were at that place due to the fact there was so much energy, testosterone and no BS attitude that just oozed out of that place. I could go all day and tell you stories of how hard and crazy those workouts were but what impressed me the most about that place is that no one there tolerated excuses. [Read more…]

Low Testosterone and Skinny Jeans

Low Testosterone and how to correct it - Fitness Revolution Rowlett

Not too long ago I made a comment on Facebook about how I felt that all the hormone laden foods are responsible for three things:

12 year old girls that look like they are 18

The emo culture

Guys wearing skinny jeans

So much of the meat we consume is just saturated with antibiotics, hormones and who knows what else in order to ensure that all the animals are producing adequate (if not an over abundance) of meat for our consumption.

If you take your average gym goer or health conscious person they are consuming 1lb of meat daily but if you’re a bodybuilder or athlete your probably consuming around 3lbs a day. This breaks down to you taking in a LOT of hormones and chemicals that are most likely not contusive to your goals and especially manipulating your hormone levels in a negative way when it comes to gaining muscle and losing body fat.
