I need to start off by saying…

I AM NOT A DOCTOR, and these recommendations that I’m going to make are based on the research that I read and experiences from clients and myself so please use this information for education ONLY and NOT medical advice. Consult a dr. if you have questions about your health.

Ok so that was a bit of a buzz kill intro wasn’t it (sigh)…

What I’ve done below is list out the raw ingredients that you can pick up just about anywhere (I personally use Amazon) that I like to see in supplements from fat burners to muscle builders. The reason I like raw ingredients is this way you know exactly how much you are putting into your body and not relying on the proprietary blend that we talked about in the last blog

So what is listed below are the bulk of the ingredients that cause majority of supplements to work without any of the filler. Your welcome.

Traditionally I don’t do too many blogs on supplements because I’ve seen some people quickly run to the store or online in hopes this is the magic pill and not understand that the eating is essentially what makes these supplements work.


At best supplement stacks will give you about a 5% edge 


I’ve accepted you were simply going to get some recommendations from somewhere so at least this is better than getting it from the GNC guy that obviously doesn’t work out or the 18-year-old supplement guy working behind the counter.

I think that was my justification for writing this. Lame, right? LOL

Recently I got this question on Facebook: Travis, what pre workout do you recommend?

SHEEEEET… that is a loaded question.

First off let me just say that pre-workout is not mandatory for every workout, BUT I do understand that it’s almost equivalent of a proverbial switch that flips in the brain to let you know it’s time to kick a$$ and work out… to a lot of people it’s ritualistic that they fill their shaker cup with water and start chugging their liquid energy.

Hey I get it, I have been guilty of this myself on many occasions and still find myself picking up an RTD (ready to drink) pre workout if I was ill prepared for the day.

What to Eat Before a Workout?

This has to be one of the biggest questions that I get as a trainer.

I’ll admit that it’s a good question because depending on the type of workout can influence what a person should or should NOT do before their training session to maximize the results of their workout.

These can range from types of food, timing and supplements which can make your progress a lot easier.

I’ll keep the supplement list very basic but as you progress with your fitness and goals you can get pretty serious about certain types of supplements you can take to enhance your performance or fat loss progress… but ONLY if you are covering your bases already.

Again I emphasize that I’m still a believer that if you are eating like poo and not doing the basics then you will not get the full benefit of the supplement. [Read more…]

5 of the most common questions I’ve been asked so far this year

1. What’s the best ‘diet’ pill?

I am, and at the same time, I am not surprised how much this question pops up, in fact the other day I had a lady do a consult with me just so that I could tell her what I thought the best diet pill was.

My response to her was “The best diet pill is the gym”.

Most people are paying 35ish dollars a month for a gym membership and your typical diet pills run you about the same AND I PROMISE there is NOT a diet pill that will give you the same results as busting your butt on the gym floor.  A diet pill is a supplement, meaning it supplements what you are already doing. If you’re killing it in the gym then you’ll notice a bit of extra results, but if you are not eating right and working out hard then you really won’t notice too much from a diet pill. [Read more…]

So it’s been a few weeks since I finally got the new website up and running (for the most part at least) that has taken a big

Now I know that he has gotten a lot of flack for his most recently scandal and I’m not down playing that but regardless you can not be impressed by his meteoric rise from an Austrian bodybuilder to where he is now.

In addition I’m happy to announce that Fitness Revolution has teamed up with Prograde Nutrition! Honestly I can’t tell you how happy I am to be affiliated with this company.


I was introduced to Prograde a few years ago and I haven’t turned back since. What got me to realize this company is so far ahead of any supplement company was the fact they did deliver results.


Years ago when I began getting caught up in the supplement craze spending insane amounts on powders and pills (one month I topped over $500!) I bought in on all the marketing hype of your big brand names but to be honest as much money I was spending I was not getting the results that I was expecting.   • Not all supplements are created equal, I could tell you horror stories of the manufacturing ways of some major companies
  • Least amount of marketing usually means a better product (tell me I’m not wrong).


I can’t tell you how excited I am for the coming months because Rowlett FR is going to get better and better always delivering the results you want. GUARANTEED!
