To Eat or Not to Eat

So todays blog had taken me quite some time to write, honestly I must have written the thing a thousand times in my head and a few times on paper scratching it each and every time. Why? Well really this topic can go into so much detail that honestly I feel that I would be doing you an injustice if I didn’t cover all my bases and provide you with as much knowledge to allow you to have an educated opinion.

Now I’m just going to scratch the surface to peak your interest, I’ll save the really cool info for later blogs because honestly I could do a MAJOR rant on this. [Read more…]

Champion Core Series: Level 4

Level 4 is Here!

Ok, so if you’ve made it this far in your routine then you should notice that by this point in time, if you have mastered the previous three levels of training, that your abdominal development should be picking up.  Assuming that you don’t have copious amounts of insulation over them you should be able to feel the ridges in your abdominal wall and some developing in your oblique’s.

Level 4 really starts to scratch the surface of some of the advanced work that about to come! So you’ll notice that the exercises are beginning to get more difficult and a feeling of the need to “get stronger” begins to become more prevlaint

You see with the two three levels you may have noticed that the primary focus was just neural coordination or other words what is commonly known at the mind muscle connection.

Level three came around and by then you become to feel a bit of burn in your ab training due to the increased mind muscle connection but you may still have to had think pretty hard about really making the abs work.

So here are the two new exercises that make level 4 really start to stand out. [Read more…]

Champion Core Series Level 2

Now on to level 2!

I’ll keep this a bit short and sweet because the only real difference between level 1 and level 2 workouts is the addition of a bent knee leg raise.

The reason that we are going with a bent knee is that by this point in time you should be able to have a little bit more basic control over your abdominal wall and we need to turn it up a notch WITHOUT going too far outside your level of control. [Read more…]

Not your typical wall squat

Awesome Squat Technique!

This will be the final video that I will do, for the time being, on how to do proper leg work. Honestly I could go on all day about tips, tricks, form and technique but it can get a bit too much into the science of specific conditions. If you have questions though, post them in the comment section below and I’ll be more than happy to help 🙂

Better looking glutes… and safer :)

With all the videos that I have been doing over proper leg work I figured that I need to add in explanation on how to properly initiate a squat.

Most think that you need to bend your knees first but that is BAD… that is a fast way to wear them out. Instead we want to start the motion out with our hips. Take a look at the video and you’ll see how I teach this motion to ensure that anyone who tries this well not only build a better backside and NOT sore knees.

My favorite exercise for a sexy back side ;)

New video today! This is another exercise that all my clients know that I ‘m notorious with… RDL’s (Romanian Dead Lifts)

This exercise should be a pillar in anyone lower body training; this works what’s called the posterior chain (hamstrings, glutes, lower to mid back). Proper development of these muscles ensures that your body is well balanced front to back and helps reduce injury. That may sound weak but how many people do you know with quad injuries? Most occur in the lower back… so let’s fix that problem and make it look good while doing it!

***I kept the video very basic because I could go in a lot of detail of proper mechanics and techniques depending on your body type and movement pattern***

Take a look and tell me what you think!

(side note: Every week I’m working on providing you better and better videos so any suggestions that you think would help make these better for you let me know at info@fitnessrevolutionrowlett.com )

Get that sexy leg on! (Second Exercise)

Now for the second exercise in my sexy leg series; this is very similar to the walking lunge, in some cases it could be a substitute, but I personally feel that doing both weekly can really push your legs to that next level.

***Just a fair warning, I may make this look easy but that’s my job! Start SLOW and take your time, no rush here***
