How Junk Food & Fast Food Lead to Obesity & Depression

March 2012 – I finally had enough.  I was scared for my life.  There I sat, 26 years old, and listening to my doctor tell me that I was cutting my life in half by being obese and not doing anything about it.  I was borderline diabetic, and my cholesterol and blood pressure were off the charts.  I sat there realizing that I was killing myself with bad decisions.

I had always talked about losing weight and slimming down, the only consistency I had was giving up soon after I started the newest fad diet, or joining a gym – it was depressing to go, and even more depressing to quit.  That internal alarm going off while I sat in my doctor’s office gave me the courage to do one of the hardest things I’ve ever done – ask for help.  I reached out to my friend and now trainer, Blaine Callaway.  He took the time to understand what it was that I needed to do for myself, and how to get me into the personal mindset of not giving up.  I have always understood the need to not only lose weight, but to make this a lifestyle change.  I had tried, and couldn’t do it alone.

Blaine took me as a client knowing I didn’t know a thing about working out, and he knew it would be a challenge for me.  From day one, working out with Blaine was not only about lifting weights or getting in cardio, it was also about understanding WHAT we were doing, and how to properly do the workouts so that I could get the maximum results.  Routines were set up and tailored specifically for me, and they changed every week!  Just when I got the hang of something, Blaine would hit me with new material.  Impressively, without realizing it, I was learning and perfecting form and keeping my body and muscles in a state of constant shock. Blaine made sure he pushed me in the right direction and helped me to understand what changes I needed to make to be successful, both inside and outside the gym. Blaine helped me with nutrition questions, and even the embarrassing things that come up when dealing with so much weight loss.  He always goes over and beyond what I expected of my trainer, and turned his guidance into a lifestyle change for me.  I no longer view my regimen as exercise and dieting, it’s the key to living a better, healthier, and happier life.

Blaine isn’t like any other trainer I’ve encountered in the gym.  He didn’t force any crazy diets on me or workouts that made me want to quit forever.  He took the time to understand what I wanted and what my limits were.  Sure!  He pushes me to places where I thought I couldn’t go, and there were some workouts that I looked at him like he was insane for even mentioning them.  The bottom line is, I trust Blaine, and I know that my commitment to myself to get healthy and my trust in his ability and knowledge have always pushed me forward.  People want a miracle cure for weight loss, but the reality is that it takes time, dedication, change, patience, understanding, support, and someone there to help guide you and push you at just the right time. Blaine has always kept me accountable for my own weight loss, and it has made me push harder so I could show him my results.  As a trainer,Blaine’s philosophy works – it’s not only a physical change, but a mental commitment to improving as well.  While you work out with Blaine, your entire way of thinking changes and you will start to see weight loss differently.

Trainers can’t force you to do anything; the inspiration has to come from within.  If you are ready to make the investment in yourself & make this lifestyle change – then look no further.  Contact Blaine Callaway, you will not regret it!

My weight loss speaks for itself.  Down 90 lbs in 7 months (11” off my waist, 5” off my thighs, 4” off my chest & hips, and 2” off my biceps.  All of my success has been accomplished with not only the support of my family and friends, but with the knowledge and maintenance provided by my trainer, Blaine Callaway.

If you’ve ever stepped into a gym you know you’ve seen that person – standing by the machines, trying to read the diagrams and figure out what they should do next.  I don’t have that issue.  My workouts are set before I walk into the gym, and I walk in confident and determined to destroy each set of every exercise I have to get through that day.  I’ve learned that it’s not how long you last in the gym; it’s about what you do while you’re there.  I know that I am spending my time effectively while I’m there because Blaine makes sure that I am challenged, and having fun during my workouts.
