Low Testosterone and how to correct it - Fitness Revolution Rowlett

Not too long ago I made a comment on Facebook about how I felt that all the hormone laden foods are responsible for three things:

 

12 year old girls that look like they are 18

The emo culture

Guys wearing skinny jeans

 

So much of the meat we consume is just saturated with antibiotics, hormones and who knows what else in order to ensure that all the animals are producing adequate (if not an over abundance) of meat for our consumption.

If you take your average gym goer or health conscious person they are consuming 1lb of meat daily but if you’re a bodybuilder or athlete your probably consuming around 3lbs a day. This breaks down to you taking in a LOT of hormones and chemicals that are most likely not contusive to your goals and especially manipulating your hormone levels in a negative way when it comes to gaining muscle and losing body fat.

 

Low Testosterone Levels

For those that don’t really know what testosterone is it’s the male sex hormone that’s closely associated with building muscle, burning fat and libido. Females have testosterone as well but levels much lower in men which explains why the decreased muscle mass and slightly higher bodyfat levels. Also remember this is why women can’t bulk up the same way a male can.

The average male today has scary low testosterone levels and over the past fifty years we have seen a significant decreases in testosterone levels in both men and women, this is almost to a point of epidemic levels that we are seeing mass amount of hormone therapy clinics popping up like fast food chains. That aside we want to keep our testosterone levels at high levels to ensure that we are gaining muscle and losing body fat, not the other way around.

For both men and women having high testosterone levels is a sign of health, spunk, confidence, performance (in more  than one way), what makes you build muscle, burn fat and walk away  from exploding buildings feelings like a bad a–

 

Tips on How to Correct Low Testosterone Levels

  • Eat natural and organic foods (if you can’t kill it or grow it, don’t eat it)
  • Avoid ALL processed foods
  • Eat grass fed beef
  • Consume Fish Oil or my favorite Krill oil daily
  • Eat organic raw nuts
  • Lift weights at least 3 times a week
  • Get in 20min of sunlight daily
  • Supplement with vitamin D3
  • Minimize stress
  • Have sex three times a week (preferably with someone hot)
  • Sleep at least 8 hours a day

Estrogen is the female sex hormone that is important for a plethora of metabolic and hormonal benefits but is a detriment with gaining muscle and losing body fat. In fact if estrogen levels climb too high we begin to store more bodyfat around our butts, hips, thighs, and chest.

Women NEED estrogen but not at the levels that we are seeing today, 12 year old girls developing and looking like they are 18… ring a bell?

Men have estrogen as well and we do need some but the same goes for above, not NEARLY as much as we are seeing now. Over the past several years I’ve seen men’s hormone panels show levels of estrogen that equates to a 16 year old girl.

I personally attribute the high increase in estrogen levels due to environmental factors such as hormone laden foods and pesticides to name a few, so if we want to get back on the muscle building and fat loss track we need to keep this hormone in check.

 

Tips on How to Correct High Estrogen Levels

  • Avoid Pesticides on mass grown produce. Most pesticides are estrogen component
  • Eat grass fed beef. Majority of mass produced meats are FILLED with estrogens
  • Detox your liver. All components of outside sources of estrogen must pass through the liver but if the liver is stressed from a bad lifestyle then it can’t filter out the excess estrogen.

 

These are the exact tips I give when I have to get certain clients to raise their test levels and lower those estrogen levels. If you notice the big trend is to get off mass or commercially produced foods, I can’t tell you that if you did that alone you will notice an IMMEDIATE difference on how you look and feel. That along will drop a LOT of unnecessary bodyfat.
